It’s funny when I hear people say: “oh you think you are the shit (translation: the best) and better than everyone.”
It’s even funnier hearing from people that are supposedly closest to me and knows me. I understand, the confidence of an outspoken, self-loving petite Chinese girl intimidates you and most of America. Sorry but not sorry that I am not the shy, quiet, nerdy, and obedient Chinese girl you wish that I am. Sorry but not sorry that I conquered a new country, language and culture and so very proud of it. Sorry but not sorry that I let my work speak for itself and have hard work, not privilege to back my pride. Sorry but not sorry I have discipline and high standards for myself to be the best person I can be for myself and those I love. Sorry but not sorry that you take my confidence as cockiness. It’s not my problem, that you project your own insecurity and jealousy onto me. It’s not my problem that you are trying to bring me to your level when you should be striving to get to your higher level. It’s also not my job to explain myself to you. I know my path, I know my strength and weakness, and I know which higher level I can get to. So yes I am the best, in relation to myself. It has nothing to do with you. You should focus on being the best for yourself and the people you love as well.
